Sea Gypsy Cancellation Policy

At Sea Gypsy, we understand that circumstances may change, and sometimes it becomes necessary to cancel or reschedule a booking. To ensure transparency and clarity, we have established a cancellation policy that outlines the procedures and conditions for cancellations by both the renter and Sea Gypsy. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with this policy before making a reservation.

Sea Gypsy Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellation by the Renter

1.1. If the renter cancels the booking more than 30 days prior to the rental start date, they will receive a full refund of the rental fee minus a 10% administration fee.

1.2. If the renter cancels the booking between 14 and 30 days prior to the rental start date, they will receive a 50% refund of the rental fee.

1.3. If the renter cancels the booking less than 14 days prior to the rental start date, they will not receive any refund.

2. Cancellation by Sea Gypsy

2.1. If Sea Gypsy cancels the booking for any reason, the renter will receive a full refund of the rental fee.

2.2. If Sea Gypsy cancels the booking due to weather conditions, the renter will receive a full refund of the rental fee or the option to reschedule the rental for another available date.

3. Cancellation Procedure

3.1. All cancellations must be made in writing by email to Sea Gypsy.

3.2. The effective date of the cancellation is the date Sea Gypsy receives the written notification.

4. Rescheduling Procedure

4.1. If the renter wishes to reschedule the rental to another available date, they must contact Sea Gypsy at least 30 days prior to the rental start date.

4.2. If the renter wishes to reschedule the rental less than 30 days prior to the rental start date, Sea Gypsy reserves the right to charge a rescheduling fee of 10% of the rental fee.

This cancellation policy is effective as of the date of booking and may be subject to change without notice.

Damage to Vessel and Equipment – Liability

5. Damage and Responsibility

5.1. Renter Responsibility
The renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or destruction caused to the vessel, onboard equipment, or third-party property resulting from:

  • Negligent, reckless, or unreasonable use
  • Failure to follow instructions given by the crew or captain
  • Careless behavior by the renter or any participant in their group
  • Use of equipment in a manner not intended or instructed

In such cases, Sea Gypsy reserves the right to charge the renter for the cost of repair or replacement, based on an assessment by a qualified professional.

5.2. Normal Wear and Tear
Damage resulting from normal and reasonable wear and tear during proper use of the vessel and equipment shall not be the responsibility of the renter.

5.3. Damage Due to Weather, Sea Conditions, or Technical Failures
The renter shall not be held responsible for damage caused by:

  • Rough or extreme sea conditions
  • Unpredictable weather events
  • Mechanical or technical failures not resulting from renter negligence

5.4. Damage Reporting
The renter or any participant on their behalf must report any damage or malfunction immediately upon discovery to the crew or to Sea Gypsy. Failure to report may be considered negligence and may result in additional liability.

5.5. Security Deposit / Post-Rental Charges (if applicable)
Sea Gypsy reserves the right to require a security deposit prior to departure or to charge the renter’s payment method after the rental in the event damage is discovered following the completion of the rental.
